264. Graham Greene - The Heart Of The Matter

Aeroplane reading en route to Copenhagen. I had thought this was my favourite Greene, but was disappointed this time round.

I understood the relationship between Scobie and the two women in his life better, but found his suicide unconvincing and protracted.

Greene is still a great writer – you are not going to enjoy a book the same way every time you read it.
