Paddy recommended this and I read a lot of it probably not in a great mood.
About an orphan girl, and a goof cast of Gallic characters in and around Chartres. She eventually finds love after many misfortunes, so it is almost an old-fashioned romance. I just didn’t find it very interesting, but maybe I read it in a jaded mood.
